To Residents of Howard County: I’ve known Captain Jordan Buckley for over 20-years. During this time, he has proven himself to be an effective leader and a trustworthy friend. In my former capacity as the Howard County Coroner and Reserve Deputy Sheriff. I have had the opportunity to work alongside Captain Buckley many times in his capacity as a patrolman, supervisor, and administrator. I can attest to the respect he has for and from the men and women of the Sheriff's Office as well as the multiple agencies that we both have worked with over the past 20-years. Captain Buckley has served in every division from corrections, dispatch, patrol, criminal investigations, to the administration of the Howard County Sheriff's Office. Prior to his tenure with the Sheriff's Office, he worked for the Indiana Department of Corrections as a Corrections Officer and Supervisor. Jordan has always shown his leadership abilities in anything he does. He has served for several years on the Eastern School Board in many positions, including President. But the most important role that I personally know, and have witnessed, is that Jordan is family centered. He takes his role as a father of three very seriously. He encourages and supports their interest and endeavors daily to foster their success in life. Jordan's vast experience as a proven community-oriented leader will serve him well in his endeavor to be the next Howard County Sheriff which will be a win-win for the residents of Howard County. I have known Jordan for several years. We first became friends as he was attending the academy. Shortly thereafter, I started working in the jail and continued to foster a friendship with Jordan. He invited me to ride along with him on a shift and when I took him up on this offer, I witnessed first hand Jordan as a deputy sheriff. He was fair, firm, and consistent with his interactions with the citizens in which he served. Jordan displayed character and integrity as he served. It is no secret that I currently work with Jordan and have done so under his command as both a shift supervisor and as patrol captain. Jordan’s leadership has molded many of those who currently serve today.
